Introduces unmanned aerial systems (drones), including applications, safety, maintenance, mission planning and flying, and data acquisition (still images and video).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Remote Pilot Ground School (GEOG 107)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Equips students with knowledge about the regulations and procedures governing the safe and legal operation of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), commonly referred to as \u201cdrones.\u201d Coincides with the knowledge areas in the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s (FAA\u2019s) Part 107 airman knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate with a sUAS rating, and is intended to prepare students for the FAA written examination required for students to become commercial sUAS pilots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drone Technology Internship (CE 100)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This class is structured as a supervised on the job training for drone technology students. Students are required to complete 60 hours of unpaid internship or 75 hours of paid internship for this course. Students will identify organizational objectives, accomplish measurable on the job learning objectives by completing work based projects, and undertake new or expanded workplace responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
